The 20th annual sports and charity Chestnut Run went forward without a hitch on May 27, in tandem with the celebrations of Kyiv Day on Maidan Nezalezhnosti Square. The run attracted 7,028 participants. The event began with a 5-minute warm-up led Olympic gymnastics champion Kateryna Serebryanska and included over 4,000 runners, thereby setting a new record for participation in morning exercises. Kyiv City State Administration head Oleksandr Popov was the special guest at the event and personally congratulated the runners. The Dreams Come True team, consisting of children who were cured of all kinds of severe diseases, was the first to run through Kyiv´s streets. Every year those children inspire thousands of people by example and give hope for recovery. After completing their nominal 300 m distance, they gave way to the 5 km run. Ihor Didenko and Hlib Tymoshenko, owners of Dwa Towarishcha Even Agency and popular entertainers, also joined the run. Didenko and Tymoshenko brought a positive mood and energy to other runners and became the "running presenters", which made the whole event a true fun run. Tymoshenko ran the whole distance and as soon as he crossed the line he returned to the stage and shared his impressions and emotions. Concert of the popular Ukrainian rock group S.K.A.Y closed the 20th sport charity event Chestnut Run.
