President Petro Poroshenko, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande discussed in a telephone conversation the possibility of increasing macro-financial assistance to Ukraine both through the mechanism of international financial institutions and at bilateral level.
The three leaders agreed that a tripartite contact group should meet as soon as possible to take measures for further implementation of all provisions of the Minsk Agreements that are the way to de-escalate the conflict, as well as to address the humanitarian problems in the Donbas.
In this context, the president said that in the coming days Ukrainian authorities would send to the affected regions humanitarian aid with food and medicines. “The mechanism of the tripartite contact group, as well as cooperation with international organizations, is necessary for the proper delivery and distribution of the aid,” he said.
In addition, the leaders of Ukraine and France, as well as German Chancellor spoke in favor of continuation of the dialogue in the Norman format.Printable version
