Within the framework of preparations for the Euro 2012 football championship, Ukraine and Poland have developed a “green corridor” at border checkpoints for cars and airports of the host cities, said Deputy Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Ihor Tymofeyev. He said such special measures are aimed at speeding up the process of customs clearance during Euro 2012. Both parties have drafted corresponding normative acts aimed to “considerably speed up the process of customs clearance for fans”. He also said that the Ukrainian and Polish sides are working on the rules of equal passage of fans at the Ukrainian-Polish border notwithstanding the fact that the norms and rules on Polish territory differ from those on the territory of Ukraine. “We are currently trying to synchronize the process to make it clear and quick for football fans,” Tymofeyev concluded.
