Volia expands DOCSIS 3.0 internet packages

Volia, a telecommunications service provider, intends to introduce internet-access packages based on the DOCSIS 3.0 data-transfer protocol for private subscribers in September.

Volia´s spokeswoman Syhda did not disclose the number of internet-access packages that will be offered and the cost of the packages. She said there will be several access packages and they will be comparable in price with the company´s existing services. The company presently provides internet services based on the DOCSIS 3.0 standard to corporate client. The company provides analog cable television broadcasting services under the Volia Cable brand name, digital TV broadcasting as the Volia Premium TV, and Internet access via cable networks under the Volia Broadband. The Volia group of companies is owned by the Ukrainian Growth Fund (UGF), which is managed by the SigmaBleyzer international company.
