Ukraine, U.S. develop energy cooperation

Ukraine and the United States intend to step up cooperation in the energy sector, Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Hryschenko said after the second meeting of the Ukrainian-US strategic partnership commission in Kyiv. Today we have agreed to step up efforts aiming at engaging the American experience and investment in the energy sector, he said. Hryschenko said the meeting focused on the issue of energy carriers, diversification of supplies of nuclear fuel and provision of energy security. The meeting also touched upon utilization of the solid rocket fuel and ammunition. Foreign minister expressed his satisfaction with the efficiency of the commission´s work and with the shared approaches of the sides concerning vital problems. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the issue of provision of stability of the Ukrainian energy sector was of crucial importance and expressed satisfaction with the current level of the bilateral relations.
