Hyundai Rotem high-speed trains will sbegin running between EURO 2012 host cities in Ukraine on May 15, said Vice Premier and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov. He emphasized that the new trains will reduce travel time. “The distance between Kyiv and Donetsk is 730 km. High-speed trains will overcome this distance in five and half hours. A trip from Kyiv to Lviv will take only four and half hours and from Kyiv to Kharkiv –three and half hours. The trains will start running on May 15,” said Kolesnikov.
He assured that fans will have no problems buying tickets. “It will be possible to buy tickets on the Internet. After May 1 it will be possible to book them online even in the UK,” said Kolesnikov. He also added that a significant number of airplanes will be used for transporting fans and guests of the championship. “We would like to achieve a level of transportation similar to that between Madrid and Barcelona, meaning there will be flights every half hour,” said Kolesnikov.Printable version
